Born in the North. Built for the North.
Meet Danny and Cameron: The father-son team behind CanDock Thunder Bay.
For us, Northwestern Ontario isn't just a service area on a map—it's our home, our playground, and our family's way of life. As a father and son team of lifelong northerners, we have a deep-rooted passion for everything this incredible, rugged landscape has to offer. When we aren't designing custom shoreline solutions for our clients, you will find us out together hunting, fishing, and living the exact outdoor lifestyle our business is built around.
We are fiercely passionate about this industry because we know exactly what it takes to survive and thrive on these waters. We built CanDock Thunder Bay to bring only the best, uncompromising, 100% Canadian-made solutions to our neighbors, ensuring you can master the water just like our family does.
Four Decades of Deep Northern Connections
Understanding the complex terrain and logistics of Northwestern Ontario is in our DNA. For 35 years, Danny has been a cornerstone of the northern aviation industry, flying and operating with Bearskin Airlines and Wilderness North. Over nearly four decades, he has proudly serviced, supplied, and built lasting, on-the-ground relationships with First Nation communities across the entire region.
Having flown these routes and lived this lifestyle, Danny understands the extreme, ever-changing water levels on the Ogoki, Albany, and Winisk River systems. In the North, water isn't just a view—it's a vital highway. Float plane and boat access is a fundamental part of the way of life for First Nation communities, essential for heading out on the land, delivering critical goods, running youth programs, and responding to medical emergencies.
CanDock's innovative post-cube technology is perfectly matched for these massive fluctuations, rising and falling seamlessly with the rivers. Above all, it provides an incredibly stable, slip-resistant platform that ensures easy, safe, and reliable access in and out of boats and planes for everyone—especially children, women, and elders.
Between Danny's decades of aviation logistics and our shared on-the-water experience, we know the remote fly-in lodges. We know the intricate challenge of moving heavy freight into the far north. And we know firsthand the sheer force of the elements, whether you are on a tranquil inland lake or facing the punishing waves of Lake Superior.
Because we know the land and the people, we know exactly what works here. That is why we exclusively partner with Canadian manufacturers who build nearly indestructible, zero-maintenance equipment. Out here, you need solutions that won't quit, backed by people who won't let you down.
Our Family's Promise to You
At CanDock Thunder Bay, we don't just sell products backed by decades of family-run ingenuity—we are a family-run business ourselves. Whether we are designing a luxury wellness retreat in your backyard, outfitting a commercial mining operation, or organizing a float plane delivery for a remote community, we treat your shoreline like it's our own.
Stop watching the water from a distance. Let our family help you build your ultimate shoreline oasis.
